Beck Newton

APD, RN, CDE, CEDC

Beck is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Credentialled Eating Disorder Clinician, Credentialled Diabetes Educator, and Registered Nurse with dual qualifications in general and mental health nursing. With more than three decades of clinical experience across hospital, community, and private practice settings, she brings a rare blend of metabolic expertise and mental‑health insight to her work.

Her practice is grounded in the understanding that nutrition, metabolic function, and psychological wellbeing are deeply interconnected. Beck's area of expertise is suited to supporting individuals aged >16 years. She specialises in supporting individuals experiencing mental health disorders, disordered eating patterns, and the complex interplay between nutrition, emotional regulation and mental health. She works from a weight‑neutral, trauma informed, eating disorder informed framework that prioritises safety, nervous‑system regulation, and sustainable behaviour change.

Beck’s background in diabetes care and metabolic health provides a strong physiological foundation for her mental‑health work. She has extensive experience with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, pre‑diabetes, PCOS, and type 1 diabetes with psychosocial complexity. Her experience informs her nuanced understanding of how blood glucose variability and metabolic function can influence mood, cognition, and emotional resilience. She has a particular interest and qualifications in the use of therapeutic carbohydrate reduction as a tool for stabilising metabolic function and supporting improvements in mental wellbeing, always applied with flexibility and clinical sensitivity.

As both a dietitian and a mental health nurse, Beck excels at helping clients make sense of the “why” behind their symptoms – compassionately integrating physiology, psychology, and lived experience. Her work empowers individuals to rebuild metabolic stability, improve emotional regulation, and develop a more peaceful, confident relationship with food and their bodies.
